I'm a mom, teacher, and midwife here in Chattanooga. I've had all three of my own children at home, taught over 100 families natural childbirth education, and attended over 100 unmedicated births.
I see birth as a normal process and my own attendance as "there for the rare" — I happily take an attentive backseat, ready to step in with support or recommendations as needed. That's the same standard I'm training you to.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience already?+
No prior clinical experience is required, but this isn't a first introduction to birth — you should already be comfortable being present at births, whether as a doula, a birth-adjacent volunteer, or through your own personal experience.
Does this qualify me to attend births independently?+
No. This training builds skills within a supervised assist role — it doesn't grant independent clinical authorization. Your scope is set by the lead midwife, state regulations, and your training level.
What should I bring?+
Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. A notebook is optional. Lunch and all materials are covered both days.
